We're WAGNUM, an Australian recovery brand, and Elite Air is our boot. We've kept this comparison honest about where Normatec Elite is better.
Elite Air vs Normatec Elite: the short answer
Normatec Elite costs A$1,999.95 in Australia. WAGNUM Elite Air costs A$589.99 and goes further in two ways: higher pressure (up to 200 mmHg against 110), and attachments for the hips, glutes and arms that run from the same controller.
- Choose Elite Air if you want full-leg compression plus hips and glutes for well under half the price. Elite Air with the Hip Attachment costs A$859.89 in total.
- Choose Normatec Elite if you want boots with no hoses at all, app control and ZoneBoost, or a Short or Tall size.
- Want hose-free for less? WAGNUM Fuel.X (A$599.90) has the pumps built into the boots, like Normatec Elite.

Normatec figures are from Hyperice's product pages; the Australian price is from NovoFit, Hyperice's Australian distributor, checked 28 October 2026. Higher maximum pressure isn't automatically better. Most people recover comfortably in the middle settings, and a higher ceiling mainly suits bigger athletes or anyone who likes a firmer squeeze.
Hips, glutes and arms: where Elite Air pulls ahead
Leg boots stop at the top of the thigh, but squats, sprints and team sport load the glutes and hip flexors hardest. Elite Air covers them with one controller and three sets of sleeves.
- Elite Line Hip Attachment (A$269.90): wraps the hips and glutes, fits hips from 71 to 92 cm, weighs 400 g and plugs into the Elite Air controller. Up to 150 mmHg, with the same three modes and 15 to 60 minute sessions as the boots. Works with Elite Air controllers bought from July 2025.
- Elite Line Arm Attachment (A$269.90): compression for the arms from the same controller, up to 200 mmHg, one size fits all.
- Normatec's options: the Elite range sells hips as a separate hose-free device, Normatec Elite Hips (US$599, 2 zones, up to 110 mmHg), and has no arm option. Normatec 3 takes a Hip Attachment (A$499.95), and its Full Body system with hips and arms was last listed at A$2,699.95 by Hyperice Australia.
| Setup | WAGNUM | Normatec |

| Legs and hips | Elite Air plus Hip Attachment, A$859.89 | Normatec 3 plus Hip Attachment, A$1,999.90; or Elite Legs plus Elite Hips, two devices |
| Legs, hips and arms | Elite Air plus Hip and Arm Attachments, A$1,129.79 | Normatec 3 Full Body, A$2,699.95 |
Where Normatec Elite is better
- No hoses at all. The pump sits in each boot, so there is nothing to connect. Elite Air uses a cordless controller with hoses. If hose-free matters most, compare Normatec Elite with our Fuel.X instead.
- App and ZoneBoost. Bluetooth control, guided sessions and extra time and pressure on one zone, such as tight calves.
- Three sizes. Short, Standard and Tall fit people under about 166 cm or over 200 cm better than our Medium and Large.
- Lighter to carry. About 1.45 kg per boot.
- The name. It's the brand most pro teams use, and it holds its value second-hand.
What no one has shown is that one sequential compression boot speeds recovery more than another. The research supports compression for feeling less sore and heavy after hard training; the differences between brands are comfort, coverage and features.
Which one should you buy?
| If you are... | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Training legs and glutes hard (squats, sprinting, rugby, AFL) | Elite Air plus Hip Attachment | Legs, hips and glutes from one controller for A$859.89 |
| A bigger athlete who likes firm pressure | Elite Air | Up to 200 mmHg, almost double Normatec Elite's 110 |
| A runner or triathlete who travels | Fuel.X or Normatec Elite | Both are hose-free; Fuel.X costs about a third of the price |
| Wanting app control and data | Normatec Elite | WAGNUM boots are controlled on the unit, with no app |
| Shorter than 166 cm or taller than 200 cm | Normatec Elite | Its Short and Tall sizes will fit better |
| A clinic, gym or sports club | Elite Air | Several stations, with hip and arm sleeves, for the price of one Normatec Elite; ask about our trade pricing |

FAQ
Is WAGNUM Elite Air a good alternative to Normatec Elite? Yes, for most people. It uses the same sequential air compression from feet to hips, reaches higher pressure (200 mmHg against 110) and adds hip and arm attachments, for A$589.99 against A$1,999.95 for Normatec Elite. You give up the app, ZoneBoost, the hose-free design and the Short and Tall sizes.
What's the difference between Elite Air and Normatec Elite? Elite Air uses a cordless controller connected to the boots by hoses, and the same controller runs hip and arm attachments. Normatec Elite has a pump in each boot with no hoses, app control and ZoneBoost, but covers the legs only.
Can I use compression on my hips and glutes? Yes. The WAGNUM Elite Line Hip Attachment (A$269.90) wraps the hips and glutes and runs from the Elite Air controller. Normatec sells a separate Elite Hips device.
How much pressure do I need? Most people are comfortable in the middle settings. Start low and build up; higher pressure suits bigger athletes or a firmer flush.
How long is the Elite Air battery? Up to 4 hours, the same as Normatec Elite, and sessions run from 15 to 60 minutes.
Which size Elite Air do I need? Medium fits about 166 to 185 cm and Large about 186 to 200 cm, with thigh, calf and ankle limits on the product page. Outside that range, Normatec's Short or Tall sizes may suit you better.
Where can I buy Elite Air in Australia? At wagnum.com.au with free delivery Australia-wide, and through JB Hi-Fi, Bunnings, Kogan and Decathlon. We also deliver to New Zealand.
